Who We Are
Online-Taxes.com provides federal and state online tax preparation and electronic filing for individual taxpayers. The Web site is an authorized IRS e-file partner, secured by Verisign, powered by IBM and certified by the Better Business Bureau’s OnLine Privacy Program.

During the past five years, the company has served nearly half a million taxpayers and enjoyed substantial growth each year. From 2003 to 2004, Online-Taxes.com grew by more than 195 percent.

Online Tax Prep Is Our Only Business
Online-Taxes.com was founded in 1999 by William White, an entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in both computer programming and public accounting. The company’s technology now is managed by partner Premkumar John, who joined Online-Taxes.com in 2002 and whose experience includes eight years at Cerner Corp., the world’s leading supplier of health care information technology. Based in St. Joseph, Mo., Online-Taxes.com has 30 employees, including programmers and customer service representatives.
Online-Taxes.com’s sole focus is individual tax preparation. The company does not complicate the process by offering expensive add-on programs or promoting other financial services.

Proud Member of the Free File Alliance
In 2002, Online-Taxes.com became a member of the Free File Alliance, a consortium of tax software companies that partners with the IRS to offer free federal tax preparation and electronic filing to qualified consumers. Each participating company has its own eligibility requirements: At Online-Taxes.com, any taxpayer who is eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, has an Adjusted Gross Income of $40,000 or less, or is 20 years old or younger may prepare and file a federal return at no cost.

William White, CPA
President & Partner

Bill White, the founder of Online-Taxes.com, has more than 25 years of experience in technology and accounting.

White began his career as a computer programmer, working with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and IBM, the world’s largest technology company. He later earned a degree in business administration and his CPA license. In 1988, he founded William White, CPA, an accounting firm that serves small businesses, government agencies and not-for-profits.

In 1999, White combined his computer and accounting backgrounds for another entrepreneurial venture, Online-Taxes.com, an Internet tax preparation site that has enjoyed exponential growth rates in each of the past four years.

White serves on the Internal Revenue Service’s Taxpayer Advocate Panel. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Computerized Tax Processors.

Premkumar John
Partner

Premkumar John, a partner at Online-Taxes.com, is responsible for the Web site’s infrastructure, security and development. He oversees the 16-member development team and makes sure the Web site’s software and hardware run smoothly.

John has more than 10 years of experience developing software and hardware systems. Prior to joining Online-Taxes.com in 2002, he served as an application developer, team leader and technical architect at Cerner Corp., a leading supplier of information technology to the health care industry. At Cerner, John played a role in the development of several key products, including electronic medical records and medical imaging software.

John earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering and computer science from the Regional Engineering College in Tiruchirapalli, India, and his master’s degree in computer science from Oklahoma State University.

The streamlined format of Online-Taxes.com makes it considerably faster than its competitors: At the start, Online-Taxes.com asks its users what forms they have, then only asks for information from those forms. There’s no need to trudge through screens about gambling winnings, farm income or foreign tax payments if those situations don’t apply.

In a tax preparation test drive, the same sample W-2 form (enclosed) was entered at Online-Taxes.com and the sites of the three industry leaders. The time is calculated from the “Getting Started” screen to payment.
