You can file your return electronically any time during the filing season. Payment must be made by April 15th to avoid interest and penalty charges. You can pay your balance due to the South Carolina Department of Revenue by check or electronically (credit card or E-Check).
To pay by check, make your check payable to the Department of Revenue and mail it along with the department’s payment voucher Form SC1040-V, to the address indicated on the voucher. OnLine Taxes will produce a payment voucher for your convenience with your forms if you owe. South Carolina also offers online payment for delinquent taxes through their DOR-e-PAY program. You can also pay your balance due by Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW) using SCnetFile. Funds are automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account based on the payment date you select. EFW is a FREE service to taxpayers. However, you must pay your balance due in full by May 1 to avoid paying penalties and interest. Please see the South Carolina Department of Revenue website for more information.
