To create a new return you will go to our homepage at www.olt.com. Use the "Start A New Income Tax Return" link located on the right under Quick Links. You use this link to create a username and password for your income tax return, you will then login and start your online tax preparation. *You will need to write down your created username and password for all future logins. *Please be advised, the password hint that you create should be a hint that will easily tell YOU what your password is if forgotten. Your username is the unique name you created when you initially filed your tax return. You entered it just before you entered your password. It may be any name you have chosen. Please remember this name, as it is how you will ALWAYS access your return. If you do not remember your username, click on the "Forgot Username and Password" link located in the login page. Enter the information requested and we will display your username and password for you. If you still are unable to get access to your username, please contact customer service, we will be happy to assist you. Each year, the database is clear for usernames. This means you can use the same username if it has not already been used by someone else for this tax year. However, you can use the same password each year due to the username only being used once during that tax season. *A good way to ensure you can get the username of your choice is to login at the very beginning of tax season and create your return with the username of your choice. Once you get your personal information entered you can logout and come back when you have all of your income tax forms ready to file your return. To login to a return that you have already created you will go to our homepage. Use the "Login to My Income Tax Return" link located on the right under Quick Links. Enter the username and password that you created when you started your return and the security code shown at the bottom of the login page to access your already started return. *If you have forgotten your username or password, select the "Forgot my username and password" link in the login page, enter the information requested and we will display that information for you. To check the status of your return go to our homepage. Use the "Login to My Income Tax Return" link located on the right under Quick Links. Enter your username, password, and security code at the bottom of the screen. You will then be asked 2 additional questions for added security (If your return is already accepted). Answer them as you did when you created your return. Once you get logged in, you will see the status of your federal return, and state return if applicable. To view and print your forms, go to our homepage. Use the "Login to My Income Tax Return" link located on the right under Quick Links. Enter your username, password, and security code at the bottom of the screen. You will then be asked 2 additional questions for added security (If your return has indeed been accepted). Answer them as you did when you created your return. Once you get logged in, there will be a View Forms link. When you click on this link it will open up a page with links to your forms. You can open each form from there to view and/or print. *Please note, you cannot view and print forms on a queued return. You must wait until the return transmits. *You can view and print your forms by logging into the site from ANY computer using your username and password. We use Adobe Acrobat to open and print your tax forms. Some users have trouble if they do not have the latest version of Acrobat installed. Occasionally, a user still has trouble even after reinstalling Acrobat. If that happens, try right-clicking on the link that opens the Acrobat file and choosing "Save Target As", save the form onto your desktop. Then, double-click the icon that is on your desktop. This will open the file outside of your web browser and should allow you to view and print your forms. We have discovered that customers may have problems opening some forms. This is due to differences in operating systems or Adobe Acrobat Reader Versions. To correct your return, go to our homepage. Click on the "Correct My Rejected Income Tax Return" link located on the right under Quick Links. Enter your username, password, and the security code you see at the bottom of the screen. Once you log in, you will see an E-File Rejection Code Summary. Once you save and continue off of that page, you will be in your tax return. Once you have determined the source of the problem, go back into your return and correct the error. Once the correction has been made, you will need to continue all the way through the return again and resubmit. * If you are making a correction in Federal and you are also filing a state return please select to EDIT your state, save and continue through that section as well. * It is very important that you continue all the way through until you’ve reached the end and resubmitted your return. The reason for this is information changed in federal will not chang in state until you edit, and save and continue through the state portion. Some errors are easier to correct than others therefore, we have created a page that will explain your error code for you and also advise how to get to that page to make your corrections. We offer helpful hints related to your error and numbers to contact the IRS or the SSA (Social Security Administration) if the error is unable to be fixed by you. Please visit the Federal Error Code HELP page. To view and print your forms from a prior year you will go to our homepage. You will use our Quick Links on the right hand side of your screen. Please select "Access My Prior Year Return" link. You then select the year that you are wanting to view. Then, enter the username, password and security code at the bottom of the screen. The next screen will ask 2 additional questions for added security. Answer them as you did when you created your return. This will take you to the Tax Return Status page, you will be able to view and print your prior year forms. **Please note, this service is only available for prior year returns that were completed, submitted and accepted through OnLine Taxes.
