 Household Income
Household Income means the income of you, your spouse or CU partner, and the income of all Other Persons who lived with you at any time during calendar year 2004.

Household income is both taxable and nontaxable income from all sources*.

Examples of nontaxable incom enot listed on the form but required to be included: - support money received and used for personal household living expenses (mortgage, rent, food, utilities, etc.) - cost of living allowances paid to Federal employees - allowances received by dependents of armed service personnel - Federal pension and annuity income not included in adjusted gross income - worker's compensation - gross amount of "loss of time" insurance - capital gains exluded from adjusted gross income You must also include in Household Income the income of a spouse from whom you are not legally separated, even if that spouse is not a member of the household.

Not Requied to Report as Household Income
$6,500 of income earned by a full time student who qualifies as your dependent - $6,500 of income earned by a parent who is your dependent - payment made by the state of VT for foster care or for developmentally disabled persons - gifts from nongovernmental sources - surplus food or other relief in kind supplied by a government agency - the contribution portion of a pension or annuity distribution if the contribution was included in adjusted gross income in the year of contribution - or the income of a person living in the householdunder a written homesharing agreement

For Claimants age 62 or older as of December 31, 2005, or Disabled Claimants, the following is not included in Claimant's Household income: - income of a person residing in the household for the primary purpose of providing attendent care, homemaker, or companionship services, which allows the Claimant to remain in his/her home or avoid institutionalization - income of a person living in the household who is a bona fide employee hired to provide personal care to a household member and is not related to the person to whom the care is provided - or the income of a person living inthe household under a written homesharing agreement.

Not included in Household Income is the income of a pouse who is at least 62 on December 31, 2005, who does not live in the household and has permanently moved to a nursing home or other care facility.
