You can check your Virginia state Tax refund status online at the Virginia Department of Taxation website. You will need to know the primary Social Security Number and the exact amount of your anticipated refund. Click below to check the status of your Virginia return:
Virginia State Tax Refund Status If you have a touch-tone phone, you may use the Tele-Tax service to check the status of your current tax refund. The Tele-Tax service is available between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on normal business days by dialing (804) 367-2486. If you filed your return electronically, or used the Telefile or Internet filing options, your tax refund should be processed within 10 days. If you filed a paper return, please wait 4 weeks from the date you filed your tax return before contacting a service representative. Be sure to have a copy of your income tax return available, since you will need to know the first social security number that appears on the return and the amount of your expected tax refund. If you need to check on a tax refund for a year other than the current tax year, you may contact our Customer Service Section at (804) 367-8031 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on normal business days.
