CUSTOMER SERVICE FAQS

Answers to the questions customers ask most.

The long FAQ on the existing page is converted into compact accordions so customers can scan first and expand only what they need.

Use Start My Return to create or access your OLT ONE account. Once signed in, you can begin the current tax year and link available prior years. Keep your username and password for future logins.

Your username is the unique name used to access your OLT return. If you forget it, use the Forgot your Username link on the login page and follow the recovery steps.

Yes to using same username but same password cannot be used. Additionally, password change is necessary if have not logged in after 90 days.

Use the Sign In button, then enter your username, password and security code. If you have forgotten your credentials, use the username or password recovery links.

Sign in and choose the tax year. OLT then shows the status of your federal return and your state return, if applicable.

Sign in, choose the tax year, and select View Forms. The current page recommends waiting until your return has been accepted before printing final copies in case changes are required.

OLT notes that forms can be viewed or printed from any computer using your account credentials. The current page also suggests using an up-to-date Adobe Acrobat Reader and saving the PDF locally if browser-based viewing fails.

Sign in and open the rejected return. Review the E-File Rejection Code Summary, correct the applicable section, then save and continue through the return again. If the federal change affects a state return, edit and continue through the state section too. Continue all the way to the final confirmation page so the return can be retransmitted.

Use OLT's Federal Error Code Help resource for common IRS rejection codes and correction guidance. If the code is not listed, the current page directs customers to Customer Service.

Sign in, select the tax year you need, and use the View/Print links on the Tax Return Status page. This is available for prior-year returns that were completed, submitted and accepted through OLT.

The current page says qualifying taxpayers must enter OLT through the IRS Free File page and select OLT.COM there. Once the return is created through that federal link, later logins can be made from OLT.com.

OLT offers Email, Live Chat and Phone Support. The current page says email and phone support are offered year-round, while chat has different peak-season and off-season hours. Premium Edition is required for Live Chat and Phone Support.

The current OLT page says an extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. Create or sign in to an OLT return, complete the personal-information section, and follow the software prompts for an extension.

Sign in, select the tax year, and choose File an Amended Return. OLT says this service is free for customers whose originally accepted return was filed through OLT. For 2023, 2024 and 2025, a federal amended return can generally be e-filed when the original federal return was e-filed.

No. The current page states that if the original return was not filed with OLT, the amended return must be handled through the original/current software provider or by mail.

The current page says state-only e-filing is generally not allowed, with New York as an exception. A state-only return can still be prepared in OLT, but generally must be printed and mailed. Federal inputs are still required because they transfer to the state calculation.

The current OLT page points customers to IRS toll-free contact numbers for federal return or refund questions. OLT phone support does not provide federal or state refund information.
